If your summer Saturdays have had a soundtrack this year, there’s a good chance it came from Memorial Park. The Levitt VIBE Pasadena Music Series has been filling the park with free live music every Saturday since July 11, and on September 12, 2026, from 6 to 10 p.m., the season wraps with what organizers are billing as the finale to remember.
The lineup for the closing night brings together Jon B and Troop, with an opening set from Angie Fisher, a bill with enough R&B range to send the summer off in style. It’s a fitting way to close out a series that’s spent ten straight Saturdays proving that some of the best entertainment in the San Gabriel Valley doesn’t require a ticket at all.
Memorial Park sits right in the heart of Old Pasadena at 85 E. Holly Street, which makes it about as easy a plan as a Saturday night gets. Grab dinner beforehand at one of the neighborhood’s restaurants, walk it off with a stroll down Colorado, and settle in on the lawn as the sun goes down and the music starts. The series has always leaned into that low-key, bring-your-own-blanket energy, and the finale is no exception: pack a blanket, grab your friends, and claim your patch of grass early if you want a good view.
The series is a joint effort between the Pasadena Recreation and Parks Foundation and the City of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services department, part of a national Levitt Foundation mission to put free, high-quality live music in public parks across the country. Pasadena’s version has become a genuine community fixture, drawing families, longtime residents, and plenty of first-timers who wander over after spotting the crowd from the sidewalk.
There’s something worth appreciating about a concert series that asks nothing of you but your Saturday evening. No cover charge, no assigned seating, no minimum drink purchase, just a park, a stage, and neighbors sharing the same patch of grass. In a city with no shortage of paid entertainment options, from the Rose Bowl to the Ice House to countless ticketed shows around town, Levitt VIBE has carved out a space that feels distinctly communal. It’s the kind of event where you might run into your kid’s teacher, your dentist, and the person who runs your favorite coffee shop all in the same evening.
If you’ve been meaning to check out the series all summer and haven’t made it yet, September 12 is your last chance until next year’s lineup gets announced. Arrive with time to spare since good lawn real estate tends to disappear fast for finale nights, and don’t be surprised if the parking near Old Pasadena fills up early too. Structures along Del Mar and Green Street are the safer bets if street parking looks tight.
Whether you’ve been a regular all season or you’re catching your first (and last, for now) Levitt VIBE show of the year, September 12 at Memorial Park promises a proper send-off to summer. See you on the lawn.
