Kidspace Halloween 2026 Brings Costume Parades and Family Fun to Pasadena
Families looking for a Halloween experience in Pasadena that skips the scares have a month of options at Kidspace Children’s Museum.
Kidspace Halloween 2026 runs from September 18 through October 31 at the museum near the Rose Bowl, with daily costume parades, monster making, pumpkin bowling, a Witch’s Kitchen, Halloween themed trike rides and special October events. The seasonal activities are included with regular Kidspace admission.
For parents with younger children, it is one of the more accessible ways to celebrate Halloween in Pasadena without committing to a haunted attraction or late night event.
Kidspace Halloween costume parades happen three times a day
One of the centerpieces of the celebration is Kidspace’s Halloween costume parade.
Parades are scheduled every day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children are encouraged to arrive in costume and join the procession through the museum, where they can march, dance and show off whatever character has captured their imagination.
Kidspace notes that program times may change on days with adjusted museum hours, so families should check the museum calendar before visiting.
The emphasis is on imaginative play rather than scares. Kidspace CEO Lisa Clements has described Halloween as a season that encourages children to explore their imaginations and think about what is possible, with the museum creating opportunities to turn those ideas into hands on play.
Halloween activities are included with Kidspace admission
The costume parade is only part of the seasonal programming.
At the Adopt-a-Monster Imagination Workshop, children can create their own silly or spooky monster. The Witch’s Kitchen lets young visitors mix imaginative potions, while Pumpkin Bowling turns the traditional fall favorite into a game.
Families can also take a trike ride through Kidspace’s spooky house.
Kidspace Halloween activities are included with museum admission, so families do not need to purchase a separate Halloween event ticket.
Kidspace currently lists general admission at $17 for adults and children age 1 and older, $15 for seniors age 62 and older, and free admission for infants under 1. Kidspace members receive free admission.
LEGO Monster Build comes to Kidspace October 3 and 4
Kidspace is adding another Halloween activity during the first weekend of October.
The LEGO Monster Build takes place October 3 and 4 in partnership with LEGOLAND California.
Children can use LEGO bricks to create monsters, goblins, fantastical creatures and the imaginary worlds they live in, with inspiration from LEGOLAND California’s Brick-or-Treat Street model.
The LEGO Monster Build is included with regular Kidspace admission and free for members. Families who attend will also have a chance to win four tickets to LEGOLAND California’s Halloween season.
Toddler Tuesdays offer Halloween activities for younger children
Families with toddlers have additional opportunities throughout the season.
Kidspace’s fall Toddler Tuesdays feature Halloween themed art, sensory activities, imaginative play and storytime designed for younger visitors. The museum remains open to all ages during the program.
Kidspace lists Toddler Tuesday dates during the Halloween season on September 22 and 29, followed by October 6, 13 and 20.
Special toddler programming runs from 10 a.m. to noon, with a Halloween parade scheduled for 11 a.m.
Kidspace Li’l Monster Party is October 30
Families who want a daytime Halloween celebration can also mark Friday, October 30 on the calendar.
Kidspace’s Li’l Monster Party will feature costume parades at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., along with free face painting and balloon twisting from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The party is designed especially for younger children and families who would rather celebrate during the day than stay out late on Halloween night.
The October 30 celebration is included with Kidspace admission and free for members.
Pair Kidspace with the Pasadena Chalk Festival in September
Families visiting Kidspace during the weekend of September 26 and 27 will find another major Pasadena event next door.
The 33rd annual Pasadena Chalk Festival takes place at Brookside Park, next to Kidspace Children’s Museum and near the Rose Bowl.
The free festival is expected to feature about 200 chalk murals created by more than 500 artists, along with food vendors, live entertainment, public voting and family friendly activities.
That makes September 26 and 27 an especially strong weekend for families looking for things to do in the Brookside Park and Rose Bowl area.
What families should know before visiting Kidspace
Kidspace Children’s Museum is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd. in Pasadena.
The museum currently lists regular hours as 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Because schedules and individual programs can change, families should check Kidspace’s official website before visiting.
Kidspace describes its Pasadena campus as a 3.5 acre environment with extensive outdoor space, so families may also want to plan for outdoor play during their visit.
Halloween at Kidspace continues through October 31, 2026.
For Pasadena families with younger children, the combination of costume parades, imaginative activities, LEGO building, toddler programming and a daytime Halloween party makes Kidspace one of the city’s most substantial family focused Halloween destinations this fall.
